Mine Ownership: Ivanhoe Mines 39.6%

The Kamoa-Kakula Copper Complex is the world’s fastest-growing, highest-grade, lowest-carbon major copper mine. Production guidance for Kamoa-Kakula in 2023 is set between 390,000 and 430,000 tonnes copper in concentrate at cash costs between $1.40-1.50 per pound of payable copper. Over the first six months of 2023, Kamoa-Kakula has produced a total of 197,389 tonnes of copper in concentrate, placing it well on track to deliver annual production guidance. In 2022, the mining complex produced 333,500 tonnes of copper achieving the upper end of its guidance range.

Mine Ownership: Ivanhoe Mines 80-100%

The Western Foreland Exploration Project, which is 80-100% owned by Ivanhoe Mines, covers approximately 2,500-sq.km of tier-one copper exploration ground directly adjacent to the 400-sq.km Kamoa-Kakula Copper Complex. Ivanhoe geoscientists have identified striking geological similarities to the Kamoa and Kakula copper discoveries across the Western Foreland area, which currently hosts the Makoko and Kiala copper discoveries. The 2023 exploration program is estimated at US$19 million and will include up to 70,000 metres of total drilling.

Kipushi Zinc Mine

Mine Ownership: Ivanhoe Mines 64%

The Kipushi zinc-copper-germanium-silver-lead mine in the DRC is the world's highest-grade zinc mine, and is on track to return to production in Q3 2024. Kipushi is expected produce approximately 270,000 tonnes of zinc in concentrate upon recommencement of production, which will place it among the world's largest zinc producers.

The Platreef Project in South Africa is the world's largest undeveloped precious metals project, which also contains significant nickel and copper, and continues to have expansive untapped exploration potential. Platreef is on track for first production in Q3 2024, and is expected to become the world's highest-margin, lowest-cost platinum-group metals and nickel complex.
